What is cleft lip surgery?Cleft lip surgery is usually done during three to four months of life. The muscles around the cleft opening are rearranged to bring the actual muscle arrangement. So that the cleft is closed and the function is restored.

What is cleft palate surgery?The primary cleft palate surgery is performed between 9 and 18 months of age to close the cleft opening. The primary cleft lip and palate surgery are typically performed before the child starts to speak so that the speech hinderance is avoided.
